In 2021, when I was pregnant with my first child, something inside me shifted. I knew it was time to get my affairs in order. I moved forward confidently… but while my estate plan was completed, it wasn’t completed the way I truly wanted. At that time, I didn’t know enough to advocate for myself or clearly articulate my wishes. And honestly? I spent way too much money for a plan that didn’t fully reflect my intentions as a mother. Now that I understand the process, the questions, the decisions, and the emotional weight behind them, I want to prevent other mothers and families from overspending, feeling overwhelmed, or worst of all, ending up with an incomplete plan.
